Epson label printer helps Domus Classica become more productive

Domus Classica is a family-owned business founded in 2008. It sells new construction materials that fit old style buildings. The family also runs a company called Metsänkylän Navetta. Domus Classica was founded to complement the selection of used products available at Metsäkylän Navetta.

Before acquiring a label printer, a lot of time was spent cutting black and white labels of the wrong size with scissors, and browsing through folders. The C3500 printer meant considerable savings in time and effort for the company, since Domus Classica applies labels to nearly all of its products.

"The C3500 label printer saves a considerable amount of time, effort and especially temper in our company. The quality of our labels has also improved considerably," says Kimmo Kuurma, founder of Domus Classica, who is very satisfied with his new printer.

Label printer makes daily life easier

Domus Classica prints a range of product information labels to be attached to products. In the autumn of 2015, the company decided to invest in an Epson ColorWorks C3500 label printer and its not regretted it. The printer has worked flawlessly right from the beginning. 

"Shop staff have praised the new label printer a lot. Employees are rarely so excited about a new piece of equipment, but this time they said that this label printer has to stay. It makes work considerably easier and the quality of print is professional,"Kuurma continues.

"Before the C3500, we used to print labels on A4-sized paper, and the amounts were never right. We did not want to waste the extra labels, so we archived them in a folder. This required a tremendous amount of effort, since we always had to first check whether we had the right labels ready, if the product information on them was still valid, and if we needed more labels. Regarding the sizes, some creativity was needed, since the size of the labels could not be controlled with a regular printer. The labels were also black and white," Kuurma says.

With the Epson ColourWorks C3500, product labels can be printed effortlessly. There is the option of flexibility according to the quantity needed, and the labels are printed rapidly to the right size and shape. Especially when making shelf edge labels, it is helpful to be able to print only one at a time. Another benefit is that the C3500 printer prints in colour.

A worthy investment

Domus Classica had considered investing in a label printer for some time, and since purchasing it, Kimmo Kuurma believes that long-term savings will be generated by more efficient use of time and reduced waste. The label printer is constantly in use, and the inks have been changed only once, even though the printer is in constant use, demostrating how economical it is.

In a small company, a label printer frees resources and enables staff to focus on productive work. Domus Classica prints labels as they are needed, the moment goods arrive. Usually the amount of labels needed at one time is in the hundreds. The ColorWorks C3500 can handle the printing quickly and effortlessly – the only time employees need to spend is in removing labels from the backing sheet, and applying them to products.
