Google Cloud Print now available to Epson users
31 August 2011 – Bringing ubiquitous printing one step closer to reality, Epson today announces that major new models of Epson’s inkjet printers will be Google Cloud Print ready from autumn 2011.
Using the Google Cloud Print service, Epson printer customers can print effortlessly on the go from their smartphone or tablet with Gmail for mobile, Google Docs for mobile and other supported applications. In addition, Chromebook users can print any document to their Epson printer without the need for drivers or cables.
“Epson is all about providing customers with the maximum possible value,” says Ian Cameron, general manager of global communications at Epson. “Combining Epson’s state-of-the-art printers for enterprise and the home together with the options offered by Google Cloud Print, liberates busy Epson customers by allowing them to print whenever and from wherever they want.”
“We created the Google Cloud Print service to enable users to print from any app, on any device, to any printer without the need for drivers or a PC connection,” says Mike Jazayeri, Product Management Director at Google. “The most seamless experience is offered by Google Cloud Print Ready printers, so we’re very excited that Epson’s latest range of printers support the service.”
