Veolia chooses TM-C3400 Series

Veolia Environmental Services, with 23,224 employees worldwide, is the global leader of the waste management market. Veolia manages every type of waste – liquids or solids, everyday or special – throughout its lifecycle, from collection to recycling, for local authorities and businesses. Collecting, transporting, sorting and recycling form part of the vast range of activities performed by the company. In France, the company has 130 waste sorting facilities.

Printing requirements in sorting facilities

To anticipate and manage the flow of its waste collection trucks, Veolia Environmental Services provides its drivers with a wall planner in each of its sorting facilities. This planner displays all the information relating to the scheduled journeys for each of its drivers using T-cards.
Veolia had many requests in relation to its planning card printing system:

• The ability to print in colour on fan-fold paper and on cardboard;
• A robust piece of equipment capable of withstanding differences in temperature and multiple handling operations;
• Low-cost consumables.

Epson’s TM-C3400: Robust and an unbeatable price

Installed in 2011, by Agis, in 15 sorting facilities, the Epson printing solution has been quickly and easily standardised for integration into information systems, both at infrastructure and software level.

The main features of this printer selected by Veolia are its extreme robustness and its very low operating costs. Epson's TM-C3400 is small and durable. It integrates perfectly into the working environments of Veolia's facilities which are real operating sites: with the continuous flow of traffic to and from the truck depot, extreme changes in temperature, staff who are pushed for time and are in transit, the TM-C3400 is not just a classic desktop printer but also a printer for industrial applications.

Alongside its simplicity and ease-of-use, thanks to its automatic paper cutter for cutting the cards and its minimal maintenance requirements, Epson's TM-3400 is offered at a price that cannot be beaten elsewhere on the market. The range's entry model is under EUR1,000 and the inkjet technology means the cartridges have a long lifespan.

"The products that we integrated previously didn't meet the demand for robustness imposed by our business. Epson's TM-C3400 experiences rough handing on a daily basis and it has proven itself to be extremely durable," explains Marc Prieur, Director of Information Systems for Veolia Environmental Services.

"Compared to the 4,500 Euros that a previous machine cost us (which broke after a few months of use), and the significant savings on consumables, for us the TM-C3400 is a product which offers unbeatable value for money."
