Accenture chooses EB-485Wi

When Accenture’s Stockholm office needed new conference equipment, the choice was simple. Epson provided a solution that was exciting, modern, user-friendly and impressive to clients.

Accenture is a global consulting company, helping its clients to solve numerous issues, including within IT, management and outsourcing. When the Stockholm Accenture office relocated its premises, they needed to invest in new conference equipment for their meeting rooms. They wanted to equip the rooms with exciting new technology that was easy to understand but also suitably sophisticated to impress clients.

The choice was simple

Following a quick market review of office solutions, Accenture decided to purchase interactive projectors from Epson. The choice was simple – Epson's products felt the most exciting, easiest to use and were also a lot of technology for the money. Accenture decided to purchase 15 of the interactive EB-485Wi projectors. Accenture had previously used Smartboards with standard projectors in all their conference rooms.

This is how the consultants work

Accenture's consultants primarily use the conference room for various client meetings and presentations. They often write on the board, create mind maps and draw sizeable scenarios. The old premises had several whiteboards in each meeting room in order to provide enough space on which to write. It was therefore key for Accenture to find a solution that allowed them to continue writing, both in amount and physical size, but that also made it easier and was more functional.

The interactive projectors allow the consultants to use the active pen to write, save and email the boards' content directly to the meeting participants. Accenture feel that one considerable advantage with Epson projectors is avoiding the need for manual pull-down screens – the image is projected directly onto the wall or whiteboard. Not only can everything that's written be saved and retrieved when required, the consultants are no longer limited to the space of the whiteboard when working. With the interactive projectors from Epson, they have as much space as needed.

How it works

Epson's interactive projectors are fitted directly to the wall, right above the surface you want to project onto. This means that the projection distance is incredibly short, which in turn reduces shadows and light shining in people's eyes. Connected to a computer, the projector becomes an excellent tool for writing and saving, displaying digital content and creating effective visual and interactive presentations in the conference room. The core of its functionality is contained in the smart pen, which is used in the same way as a computer mouse, directly on the board or wall. The projectors are not, as opposed to many other interactive solutions, tied to one particular piece of software, but the user is free to use whichever software is most appropriate in each situation.

It’s simply about being daring

Accenture employees think that it's been easy to learn how to use the new projectors. They had training from the retailer, and as soon as the employees had seen the projector demonstration, they could easily see the many potential areas of use. Everyone was easily able to use the new technology, even those who had never before used an interactive tool.
