Working and learning from home: The right tech can help reduce environmental impact (and energy bills)

With more of us then ever working and educating our children from home, energy consumption will inevitably increase. Simple tech solutions exist to both reduce environmental impact and energy bills.

Data shows that if all equivalent laser printers within Europe were switched to Epson home and small office EcoTanks, over 311 million kWh of energy could be saved over the course of a year. Further, CO 2production could be reduced by approximately 117 thousand tonnes annually [1]– the equivalent volume it would take 5.4 million trees a year to absorb [2]

“Many people’s priorities are currently on family and maintaining incomes, but a vast number of us also want to continue the environmental efforts we normally make,” says Karl Angove, Vice President, Epson Europe. “Epson inkjet technology is a simple solution to help reduce energy consumption and environmental impact while printing at home.

“One positive that’s come from the current global crisis is the reduction in air pollution observed by scientists,” continues Angove. “As we begin to recover both economically and societally, consideration should be given to how we maintain a cleaner, less polluted environment and maximise the opportunity afforded to improve our environmental efforts. Switching from laser to inkjet technology – whether in the home or small office, or in the corporate office – is a simple step towards this.”
